First Day of Work

Today was my first day of work a Obelis.  Today was completely dedicated to training, as will the rest of the week.  It is an extremely interesting company and everyone is in their early or late 20s, except for the CEO and his two children.  There were 6 other interns training as well, so a majority of the office is new, which is a strange concept to me!  We basically went over what the company does, which is still fairly confusing, but I expect I'll understand it better once I start working.  If I understand correctly they are a regulatory company for manufacturers who wish to sell their cosmetic and medical supplies in the EU.

The weather has been great here!!!  Yesterday and today I was able to go jogging in a park very near my apartment, which was fantastic!!  Here are some pictures of the park :) (ok so just one, for some reason the other ones wouldn't upload)

Downtown Brussels

My roommate Matthew and I we went to the Grand Place today. That is what the most current pictures are of.  The building has an interesting story. If you notice the tower is WAY off center, there are many more windows on one side than the other.  Well the architect who designed it was so upset by this error that he committed suicide :( It was his life's work and they did it wrong.  I am uncertain if this is a true story, but that's what they say...  I'm not sure what building I'm standing in front of, it wasn't in the grand place we walked further and found it.  It might be a government building of some sort.  We had a ton of fun just wandering around.  We're going to go back again at night, because apparently that park does a night show with lights and stuff, it's supposed to be pretty fantastic!!

I have 2 roommates, Nina and Matthew.  We each have our own room and share the bathroom.  Matthew is from the U.S. and Nina from Europe.  They are terrific and I think we will get along really well.  It is nice to have some company.  On my arrival day they were out of town, so it was a bit lonely.

Arrived safely in Belgium

Arrived in Brussels on Thursday, March 24th at 9 am.  Beautiful sunny day.  Very tired and not feeling great, but happy to be off the plane.  Heading to check out my new apartment and meet my roommates!
